DUE DILIGENCE

LIFE partnered with 3QA (Third Sector Quality Assurance), a social enterprise based in Lebanon which operates according to international standards of best practice, in partnership with the NCVO in the UK, the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.

3QA has provided us with a comprehensive due-diligence assessment on each organisation selected for the emergency relief fund. The due-diligence process includes in-depth interviews with the organisation’s board members, senior management and volunteers. The teams were asked to share documentation on the organisation’s structure, activities, reporting mechanisms and audit statements. The areas covered in the due-diligence include governance, finance, monitoring & evaluation, funding streams, and overall operations.

This process ensures that these organisations fit our selection criteria:

  1. Established and registered organisations
  2. Active in the provision of food boxes and medication
  3. Serving Lebanese citizens predominantly
  4. Non-religious and apolitical
  5. Covering all together the 8 governorates of Lebanon

 

FUNDS RAISED

100% of the money raised will go to the direct relief to beneficiaries through our selected NGOs. No funds will be spent on the general overhead cost of the organisations, but on providing basic food security and medical support to the families.

 

MONITORING

3QA will be closely monitoring the disbursement of the funds which includes a review of the services and activities conducted by the organisations, the inspection of financial records of supplies and spending and a meeting with some beneficiaries to ensure they were satisfied with the services received by the NGOs.
